Las Vegas – the city that’s way more than just casinos and bright lights. I’m excited to show you some must-try experiences you might not find in the brochures. This list has the unique experiences that make Vegas one of a kind.
1. Area 15 & Omega Mart
Area 15 is my favourite attraction in Vegas. It’s located a mile west of the strip. As soon as you step through the doors you’re instantly transformed into a completely new world. Check out Omega Mart, what looks like a regular supermarket completely transforms your view when you take a closer look. I highly recommend checking out Omega Mart and trying to find all the hidden rooms and complete the employee training.
2. Slide through a shark tank
Located in the Golden Nugget, Las Vegas’s award-winning 30 million dollar pool. The all-ages heated pool complex features a 200,000-gallon shark tank with a three-story tall water slide shooting through the middle of the tank. Complimentary for guests, non-guests can pay $25-$35 depending on the day to access the pool. Cabanas and daybeds are available with reservation. They also offer shark tank tours on select days for $50 a person.
3. Zak Bagans' Haunted Museum
Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum houses many haunted objects and artifacts. Founded by the renowned paranormal investigator Zak Bagans, ghost enthusiasts and thrill-seekers can anticipate a captivating, exploration of the supernatural within its atmospheric walls.
4. The Claw
The Claw is an arcade filled with fun claw machines. There are lots of chances to win some very cute plushies, even Pokemon plushies with lots of claw machines to choose from. The Claw is located just off the strip.
I recommend going to the opening because it gets jam-packed during the day and it’s a small place, so it can start to feel crowded quickly.
5. Zipline above Freemont Street
Soar above Freemont Street with SlotZilla. Choose from either the Zipline experience, launching from a platform 77 feet above Freemont Street, or the Zoomline experience, launching from 114 feet in the air. See the famous Freemont Street from a new perspective. Prices start at $49.
6. Gondola Ride at the Venetian
An iconic Vegas activity, a gondola ride at the Venetian is a super unique Vegas experience. Experience the enchanting ride as your gondola driver sings to you while gliding down the Grand Canal. Enjoy your 14-minute ride in an authentic Venetian Gonadla on this unique experience.
7. Erotic Heritage Museum:
The Erotic Heritage Museum is a unique institution that curates an extensive collection of art and artifacts, showcasing the evolution of eroticism across cultures and time periods. From provocative artworks to educational exhibits, visitors can expect an immersive experience that encourages open conversations about human sexuality.
8. Pinball Hall of Fame
The Pinball Hall of Fame is a huge building filled with over 200 pinball machines. It’s an attempt to have the world’s largest pinball collection. There are pinball machines from the 1950s up to more modern machines. Many machines are based on movies and music and it’s a lot of fun to spend an hour playing, with most games only costing 25 cents.
9. Atomic Liquors
Atomic Liquors is the oldest free-standing bar in Las Vegas, this historic gem boasts a colorful past frequented by legends like the Rat Pack. Immerse yourself in the retro ambiance, savour craft cocktails, and soak in the stories embedded in its walls. From the neon-lit exterior to the mid-century interior, Atomic Liquors promises a nostalgic journey through the bygone eras of Vegas entertainment and social culture.
10. Race Exotic Cars at Exotics Racing
Race the cars of your dreams around the race track at Exotic Racing. Drive without any speed limits and choose from a large collection of exotic cars. 5 laps in a Porche starts at $249 for 5 laps. Exotics Racing is just a 15-minute drive from the Las Vegas strip.
11. Get a $10 Tattoo at Koolsville Tattoo
Koolsville Tattoo offers select flash art tattoos for just $10! A unique and memorable way to commemorate your trip to Vegas!
12. Dig This
Drive bulldozers and excavators in this giant sandbox. They offer opportunities for families, kids, and adults, no driver’s license required! Dig giant trenches, stack 2000 lb tires, build huge mounds, and even teeter-totter over a mega mount! Dig This offers an incredible opportunity for anyone wanting to make a huge mess without consequences!
13. Ride the Tallest Ferris Wheel in the World
Ride the High Roller, the tallest operational Ferris wheel in the world. View the strip from 550 feet above. Located at the Linq, a ride on the high roller costs $25 each for adults during the day and $35 each for adults during the night for a 30-minute ride around. Enjoy a drink in your spacious cabin while getting some of the best views in Vegas. It’s Vegas, you can even get married here!
