22 Best Free Things To Do in Las Vegas

Are you traveling to Vegas this summer and looking for some budget-friendly activities? You’re in luck because there are tons of free things to do to make your Vegas trip exciting and memorable, even on a budget!

1. Watch the Bellagio Fountains

Watch the iconic Bellagio Fountains dance outside the Bellagio Hotel every night!

The show runs often, Monday – Friday every half hour from 3 pm – 7 pm, then every 15 minutes from 7 pm – 11:55 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays the show runs every 30 minutes from 12 pm to 7 pm, then every 15 minutes from 7 pm – 11:55 pm, giving you plenty of opportunities to watch the fountains dance!

2. Visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Located inside the Bellagio, the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens are a great stop for any Vegas trip!

The exhibits change every season, making it feel like a brand new stop every time you’re in Vegas.

3. Visit the Welcome to Las Vegas sign

This iconic sign is a popular tourist attraction! It’s located at 5100 Las Vegas Blvd S and is a great stop to get a picture to remember your trip to Vegas!

4. See the Circus

Every hour starting at 1:30 pm on weekdays and 11:30 am on weekends, you can visit the Carnival Midway at Circus Circus for a free Circus show!

Watch as the acrobats, trapeze artists, and jugglers amaze you! Be sure to get there about 15 minutes early to get a seat!

5. See the Hoover Dam

To explore the Hoover Dam fully you’ll need to pay admission for a tour, luckily you can explore the outside of the Hoover Dam for free!

There are plenty of viewpoints, or you can park near the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge and walk the pedestrian bridge to get a cool view!

6. Watch the Volcano at The Mirage erupt

Watch the Volcano at The Mirage erupt daily at the top of every hour from 8pm-11pm. The show lasts about 5 minutes and is best viewed from the bridge at the front entrance.

7. Visit the Flamingo Habitat

Located at the Flamingo Hotel, the flamingo habitat is a great way to take a break from Vegas’s bright lights and noise.

8. Visit Area 15

Be transported into a new world by visiting Area 15. Admission is free but to visit Omega Mart or any of their other interactive activities you’ll need to pay extra.

This is still a cool spot to walk around and they have plenty of sculptures and interesting stuff to look at for free both inside and outside! They also have a few super cool bars that you can visit without paying admission, so if you’re looking for a unique bar experience this might be the stop for you!

9. Watch the Dueling Piano Show at the Piano Bar

Located in the Harrahs, the Piano Bar has entertaining shows every night, watch the dueling pianos, big Elvis, or DJ Rusty’s Karaoke! 

10. The Aquarium at the Silverton

Visit the 117,000-gallon reef aquarium located in the Silverton. You might even catch the mermaid show that starts every half hour!

11. Fremont Street

There’s tons to do at Fremont Street! The atmosphere is great and it’s a perfect way to spend a night. There are always tons of free shows and street performers. You can also check out the free Viva Vision light show on the largest LED canopy screen in the world. Shows start at the top of every hour from 6 pm to 2 am.

12. Visit the Pawn Shop from Pawn Stars

Located just a few blocks from the strip, you can visit the Pawn Shop from the show Pawn Stars, Silver Pawn Shop! You might even see the guys from the show!

13. Visit the Downtown Container Park

At Downtown Container Park you can enjoy free entertainment in an open-air complex with shops made out of recycled shipping containers! Enjoy lounging in the courtyard and check out some of the unique sculptures!

14. Take a short trip to the Seven Magic Mountains

Check out the colourful art installation, Seven Magic Mountains by artist Ugo Rondinone, located about a 20-minute drive from the Vegas Strip!

15. Play Games at Gold Spike

Visit the Gold Spike to play some favourite games like cornhole, giant LEGOS, ping pong, giant beer pong, and giant Jenga and enjoy live entertainment. It’s free to enter for anyone 21 and up, except on Friday and Saturday and nights you’ll need to pay cover. 

16. Walk the LINQ Promenade

Visit the LINQ Promenade and enjoy the lively atmosphere! Admire the world’s largest observation wheel, people watch, and check out a few shops!

17. Make a Wish at the Trevi Fountain Replica

Located at Caesar’s Palace, the Trevi Fountain is another replica Vegas is famous for. It’s an impressive fountain, just about half the size of the real Trevi Fountain, it’s still a neat stop to admire! Enjoy walking around the shopping area, ‘The Forum Shops at Caesars’ afterward!

18. Visit the Pinball Hall of Fame

Walk through the Pinball Hall of Fame and enjoy browsing the huge collection of Pinball Machines, you’ll find tons of interesting machines and while it’s not totally free if you want to play, each game only costs 25 – 50 cents!

19. Visit the Shelby Heritage Center

A great stop for any car enthusiast, the Shelby Heritage Center is completely free to visit and admire the impressive collection of vintage cars. They offer self-guided or guided tours and some of the cars are even for sale! 

20. Watch the Eiffel Tower’s twinkling lights

Want to experience the lights of Paris from Vegas? The Eiffel Tower replica’s twinkling lights go off starting at dusk every 30 minutes. 

21. Go Swimming at TopGolfs Hideaway Pool

Take a swim at TopGolf’s Hideaway pool. There’s no cover fee and it is open to anyone 21 and up so you can enjoy swimming for as long as you want!

22. Walk the Vegas Strip

One of the most iconic spots in Vegas is the strip! So definitely take some time to walk the strip while you’re visiting. It’s about 4 miles long with tons of things to see, even if you only walk some of it. The Vegas atmosphere is something that can’t be replicated and the strip is definitely the place to experience it.
